Recently Fox News analyst Britt Hume succeeded in revealing the leftist media’s real colors. When asked his advice for golfer Tiger Woods in the aftermath of Woods’ moral disaster Hume responded, “My message to Tiger would be: Tiger, turn to the Christian Faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.” That’s his advice, he was asked for it and rather than equivocate he said what he believed. But judging from the more liberal media’s response, you would have thought that he had offended the entire planet. David Shuster of MSNBC called Hume’s advice, “truly embarrassing.” Tom Shales of the Washington Post lambasted Hume and predicted that his remarks would end up being known as one of the most ridiculous statements of 2010. And John Stewart of Comedy Central devoted a segment of his program to making-fun of Hume for his comments. And that is just a few. Shales eventually demanded that Hume apologize for suggesting that Tiger look to Christ for help. By the way, Hume was not speaking from theoretical faith. But rather from personal experience, having turned to Christ himself after his son’s suicide in 1998.
But why the stir? It’s because in a progressively secular culture where no rules are the rules the only thing that is taboo, are those things which suggest there is a specific moral authority (God), who we need personally and who we are personally accountable to. Hume crossed the proverbial line in the minds of secularists by asserting that God, in particular, the God of Christianity, offers a better way than the empty philosophies that many of the critics have given themselves to. So what he said, by today’s elitist standard is tragically, Taboo. Today, you can speak of anything you want and you can pretty much do anything you want as long as you do not insert God or the ways and expectations of God into the equation. Hume, in an interview with Bill O’Reilly said it well when he said that for many, just mentioning the name of Jesus Christ causes “all hell to break loose.” He is right, but don’t be intimidated by that, like Hume, speak about your experience with God without reservation, offer the hope that Christ provides to others, and like Hume, do so in love, but do so fearlessly. In the book of Acts, when threatened by authorities for speaking about God, Peter and John responded, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what ‘we have seen and heard.’” (Acts. 4:19-20) When Hume was given the opportunity to make a clarifying response to his comments, he stood his ground and replied, “I think Jesus Christ offers Tiger Woods something that Tiger Woods badly needs.” Way to go Britt!
What Do You Think?

Thank God that Britt Hume was more concerned about another’s redemption and real peace than about being politically correct.
Thank God for Fox News, The only place to get the real news.
Britt Hume did an outstanding job and thank God for people like him.
Saw the interview-wonderful=praise God for men who are not afraid
to share the truth regardless of what the world thinks. Pray that Tiger saw
and will turn to the Lord; pray for his salvation.
Thank you for sharing truth last week regarding the spirit behind the
gambling issue-as Christians we need to guard our hearts and tongues
and pray – this is where the battle is won.
Praise God for Foxnews! I listen to them all the time. I too pray Tiger heard this. I saw a brief note somewhere indicating he hates himself right now. He needs God’s love and healing. When I lived in N. Augusta, SC I saw Tiger the first year he played the Masters as a Rookie my thoughts then were if only this young man knew the Lord. I prayed for him then. I pray for him now that he will turn to God-his only hope! The only hope any of us have!
Thank you Bro. Ray!
