Ray accepted the position of  Senior pastor at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan, AL in February 2001. Prior to his call to Ridgecrest, he headed the Personal Evangelism Division for the North American Mission Board (NAMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention. While there, Ray and his team were involved in the development of a national evangelism strategy called “THE NET” which has been used in more than 6,000 churches nationwide. Before leaving NAMB, he served as pastor of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, FL for three years. During that time attendance grew from 150 to a membership of more than 1100. He attended Samford University in Birmingham and is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University. He also did graduate work at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Ray is originally from Birmingham, AL.

Hobbies

  • Reading, can’t get enough of it.  I still play basketball 3 times a week 5:30 AM and try to get in a round of golf on my day out of the office. College football…War Eagle!
